Often we can be lured in by unexpected advertisements on websites, or unwanted emails. SPAM has become a problem for nearly everyone that uses the internet. It is especially dangerous to those with p0rn addictions.

InternetSafe.org has some tips for stopping porno-SPAM.

If you receive email from an unknown sender, do not reply, click links, or load images. All of these acts only tell the sender that your email address is working and that you are reading the messages.

If you receive porn spam, complain to your United States Attorney.

Complain to your Internet Service Provider (ISP).

Complain to the sender’s ISP.

Also realize that if you’ve used your email address in the past to sign up for adult sites, they often sell your email address to other sites that generate SPAM. If you are receiving pr0n SPAM, it may be a good time to change email address. There are free email providers that include useful tools for reducing SPAM. Google offers free email with SPAM protection at Gmail.com

Remember to stay in the Word and ask for the Lord’s help turning away from the sin of lustful living.

One of the elements that makes sexual sin difficult to deal with in the life of a Christian man is that it is often covered by a layer of secrecy and shame.

There are many ways that men have successfully dealt with sexual sin in their lives. Most often, breaking a porn addiction involves some combination of God, real-world accountability, the incorporation of new disciplines, counseling, and hard work.

But apparently this phenomenon was not sufficiently prevalent enough for the subject to be addressed in the Bible. Nevertheless, we can derive an accurate conclusion from scriptures that deal with other issues and apply them to the issue of pornography.

SYNOPSIS

Millions of people view pornographic magazines, videotapes, DVDs, and Web sites each month. What appears to be a secular problem, however, is also prevalent among Christians. Because pornography has a dependency that weakens the individual; it causes a disruption of the “one-flesh” union that weakens marriages; and it results in a distortion in thinking that weakens the ability to relate and function.

Bondage to sexual sin is a tyrant that will demand more and more territory. It can be overcome, however, by choosing to take three steps of action: First, truly repent of the sin and separate yourself from it. Second, establish a pattern of discipleship through Bible study and prayer. Third, establish a relationship in which you can be accountable to another believer. By choosing to do battle now, you can avoid a full-scale war later.

Today as I was reading Proverbs I came across some verses that were very convicting and helpful to me covering just how bad pron/adultery/lust can be on each of us individually.

Here they are:

For why should you, my son, be enraptured by an immoral woman, and be embraced in the arms of a seductress? For the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and He ponders all his paths. His own iniquities entrap the wicked man and he is caught in the cords of his sin. He shall die for lack of instruction, and in the greatness of his folly he shall go astray. - Proverbs 5:20-23 (NKJV)

Earlier in the chapter this is talking about adultery but as Jesus has said lusting after a woman is adultery in our heart. It is so convicting to know that “the ways of man are before the eyes of the Lord, and He ponders his paths”.

It goes on to say…

For the commandment is a lamp, and the law a light; Reproof of instruction are the way of life, to keep you from the evil woman, from the flattering tongue of a seductress. Do not lust after her beauty in your heart, nor let her allure you with her eyelids. For by means of a harlot a man is reduced to a crust of bread; and an adulteress will prey upon his precious life. Can a man take fire to his bosom, and his clothes not be burned? Can one walk on hot coals, and his feet not be seared? - Proverbs 6:23-33 (NKJV)

These words are so convicting! Do we not go in with a seductress when we engage in Pron? Do we not commit adultery against God’s will for us when we lust? The words used and the imagery of this verse are amazing.

It is so vivid how this verse states we can become a crust of a man with lust. Knowing how lust’s main goal is to utterly consume us and make us worthless, like a crust of bread…do you not feel the same as I? Shall we, Christian men, succumb to such a deadly thing as lust? Let us say NO! Let’s stop it now, today, and fight together to encourage one another in fighting that which ultimately wishes to destroy us.

Be encouraged and convicted that we “fight not against flesh and blood” and let us remember who watches us when we lust and the great sacrifice He made for us…Stay strong in the Lord, His Word and His Service!

Pron Kills, the soul and the body…never forget this!
